How to match the solution to the project
Specify the feed line from the product mix
Capacity in tonnes per hour is meaningless without the product mix behind it. Pellet sizes, floating or sinking, oil inclusion, moisture target and species formulation all change effective throughput. State the full range you intend to produce, including the smallest pellet, because small diameters typically limit line capacity.

Size hatchery water treatment for peak, not average
Larval systems fail at peak stocking, not at average load. Size filtration, disinfection, oxygenation and temperature control for the busiest tanks during the busiest week, and build in redundancy on the loops whose failure would end a batch.
Design biosecurity into the layout
Separation of incubation, larval, live feed and nursery zones, one-directional flow, hygiene barriers and independent water loops are far cheaper to design in than to retrofit. Include zoning requirements in the RFQ so suppliers quote systems that fit the intended layout.

Small pellet sizes and multiple formulations reduce effective capacity and raise line cost.
Manual, semi-automatic and fully automated dosing and control differ in capital and labour.
Dryer type and fuel availability materially affect both capital and running cost.
Silos, conveying, intake and finished-feed storage are often larger than the core line budget.
Water treatment and oxygen scope follow the peak larval biomass, not the annual average.
Zoning, disinfection and backup systems raise capital cost and reduce catastrophic batch loss.
