Editorial policy
All content on this site is written and maintained by the FishMatch Group editorial team, an in-house team of procurement and project-coordination specialists. We publish planning, procurement and market material for commercial aquaculture buyers.
We do not publish content authored by suppliers, and we do not sell placement inside guides, comparisons or calculators. Where a page describes a commercial service of FishMatch Group, it says so on the page.
Aquaculture technical review policy
Technical material — process descriptions, sizing methods, equipment scopes, commissioning checklists — is reviewed internally against published technical guidance from FAO, WOAH, national fisheries authorities, peer-reviewed literature and manufacturer technical documentation before publication.
Internal review is not a project-specific engineering review. Educational material that has not been reviewed for a specific project is labelled as planning guidance, and every page that could be mistaken for a design output states where a qualified engineer, biologist or veterinarian must take over.
Biological claims policy
Biological outcomes are context-dependent. We do not publish a single universal stocking density, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, growth period, yield or cycle count.
- Every biological figure is qualified by species, life stage, production system, temperature and management context.
- Benchmarks are never transferred between incompatible species or systems.
- We do not claim that any system, equipment or protocol prevents, eliminates or cures disease.
- We do not promise survival, growth, FCR, yield or profitability.
- Health, treatment and stocking decisions are directed to a qualified aquaculture veterinarian or biologist.
Fact-checking policy
Substantive claims are traced to a source before publication. We prefer primary sources — FAO, WOAH, national fisheries and aquaculture authorities, environmental and food-safety regulators, peer-reviewed research, World Bank and IFC reporting, and authoritative manufacturer technical documentation.
Where a claim rests on a study conducted on a different species or system, we say so rather than generalising it. Competing equipment marketplaces are not used as evidence where a primary source exists.
Fact-check dates are shown on the answer library and on pages carrying dated technical or market material.
Corrections policy
If a page contains an error, we correct it and update the material-update date. Corrections that change the meaning of a technical or biological statement are noted on the page.
Report an error to corrections@fishmatchgroup.com with the page URL and the disputed statement. We aim to respond within five business days.
Supplier and provider review methodology
Providers are assessed on documented company identity and trading history, relevant aquaculture project references at comparable species, system and scale, technical documentation quality, scope clarity, service and spare-parts reach, and willingness to commit performance criteria in writing.
This is a structured review, not a certification. FishMatch Group does not audit factories, does not warrant provider performance and does not accept payment for a favourable assessment. Buyer identities and supplier identities are kept confidential.
Calculator methodology
Calculators on this site are planning tools. Each one applies published engineering relationships to the inputs a user provides and returns an indicative range, not a design.
Results depend entirely on the inputs and on assumptions that a real design would verify — site water analysis, measured temperature profiles, equipment performance curves and local pricing. Outputs must not be used as a basis for construction, procurement commitments or financing without professional verification.
Financing disclosure
FishMatch Group is not a lender, credit broker of record, investment adviser or financial adviser. It helps sponsors prepare and structure documentation and can pass a prepared file to independent financing providers.
Eligibility, pricing, structure, timing and approval are decided solely by those providers. No financing outcome is promised, and readiness tools on this site do not assess creditworthiness or predict approval.
Commercial disclosure
Buyers pay no platform fee for sourcing support. FishMatch Group is compensated by providers on completed transactions and may receive referral fees in connection with financing introductions.
That compensation model does not change editorial content: comparisons, checklists and calculators are maintained independently of any commercial relationship, and providers cannot buy inclusion or ranking.
