Hour 0–4: stabilize
Isolate the failure. Bring up backup systems. Document the failure mode with photos and serial numbers.
Hour 4–24: source in parallel
Call your OEM and ask about expedited spares. In parallel, contact a sourcing concierge for cross-supplier options. Do not wait for the OEM alone.
Hour 24–72: ship and commission
Air freight for critical kit, sea freight for bulky parts that can wait. Insist on a commissioning engineer on site if the part is complex.
Prepare in advance
Keep critical spares on site for failures that kill biomass in <12 hours: oxygen plants, blowers, feed lines. The cost of holding spares is a fraction of one mortality event.
