Aquaculture Buyer Checklist

Every failed aquaculture project we have audited skipped at least three items on this list. Print it, tick it, then request quotes.

Site & permits

Land title, environmental permit, water abstraction license, discharge permit, zoning, road and grid access, biosecurity distance from other farms.

Water & climate

12-month water analysis, temperature profile, salinity variability, flood/drought history, source security.

Capex & opex model

Full capex including civils, equipment, freight, install, commissioning, training, spares, contingency (≥ 10%). Opex including feed, energy, labor, mortality allowance, insurance.

Supplier due diligence

Reference sites in similar climate, financial health, spare-parts logistics, warranty terms, local service partner.

Financing & offtake

Equity / debt / lease structure locked, offtake agreements or price hedge documented, working capital line sized to 12 months of opex.
