FishMatch Group · Commercial seafood sourcing pilot
Buyer offtake: farmed shrimp and frozen seafood
Farmed fish and shrimp for importers, wholesalers, processors, food manufacturers, retail and foodservice buyers.
Set out your recurring demand and supply requirements in a private farm-to-buyer brief for human review. Buyer RFQs are free. Managed sourcing requires USD 250,000+ total annual or seasonal program value, not per shipment.
This pilot collects sourcing requirements. It does not offer live inventory, verified stock, certified producers, quality audits, traceability verification, payment or escrow services, or delivery guarantees. Availability and documentation must be checked before any commitment; a match is not guaranteed. Supplier documents remain private.
Build a comparable buyer-offtake specification
Offtake here means planned recurring or seasonal purchases, not a guaranteed purchase agreement. These checklists describe what to request from potential suppliers; they do not indicate available stock, approved origins or verified capabilities. This path focuses on farmed output; wild-caught requests need separate scope review.
Farmed shrimp supplier specifications
- Species and scientific name where known; farmed origin preference and production method to be checked.
- Whole/head-on, headless, shell-on or peeled presentation; raw or cooked; size/count with the unit stated.
- Harvest window, processing requirements, shipment tonnes and recurring or seasonal schedule.
Frozen shrimp supplier specifications
- Individual quick frozen (IQF) or block-frozen format; peeled/deveined and tail-on/off requirements.
- Size/count basis, glazing percentage, net product weight excluding glaze, and declared additives or treatments to verify.
- Inner pack and master-carton weights, labeling, lot identification and cold-chain evidence requested for review.
Frozen seafood supplier specifications
- Farmed fish species and origin; whole fish, fillets or portions; skin-on/off, bone specification and piece-weight range.
- Freezing format, glazing/net weight, packing, production or shelf-life information and destination labeling requirements to confirm.
- Receiving window, destination port, importer approvals, storage/logistics responsibility and documents required for the product-market scope.
Compare the same scope, not just a headline price
Use the same species, presentation, count unit, net weight, packaging, volume, shipment window, destination and Incoterm when requesting comparable quotes. State currency, payment terms, inspection expectations and unresolved requirements. Ask staff to clarify differences; no quote or price is supplied by this checklist.
Enter your total annual or seasonal program value in the USD budget field and specify your purchasing schedule. The minimum is USD 250,000 across the program, not per shipment; a buyer-declared budget does not replace staff qualification before managed sourcing. Product-specific cold-chain and import requirements must be confirmed by the responsible parties, not assumed from a generic temperature rule.
Managed trade opportunities require staff qualification of USD 250,000+ total annual or seasonal program value, not per shipment. Enter your estimated total program value in USD; meeting the value floor is not staff approval. Submission does not qualify a request or authorize counterpart disclosure.
From buyer brief to human review
- Describe your species, product form, count/grade, origin, shipment volume, destination and annual/seasonal USD budget.
- Review the brief and authorize private storage and sourcing-request contact.
- FishMatch reviews requirements and any potential producer fit; missing details need clarification.
- Staff review relevant supplier information before considering a suitable introduction. Identities and documents remain private under existing consent controls; there is no direct unreviewed contact. Submitting does not create an order or authorize identity disclosure.
FishMatch Group facilitates sourcing; it owns no farms or inventory and does not manufacture products. It guarantees no availability, quality, price, delivery, regulatory approval or transaction outcome. Buyers and suppliers verify requirements and contract under their own responsibilities.

Seafood sourcing questions
What farmed species and product forms can I request?
Commercial buyers can describe farmed fish or shrimp requirements, including chilled or frozen, whole fish, fillets and shrimp presentations. This is request scope, not a list of available species, origins or stock. State the scientific name where known; any producer coverage must be checked by the team.
What does a buyer need for a useful seafood RFQ?
Provide species, farming origin preference, harvest window, product form, size and its count/weight unit, processing/packing, metric tonnes per shipment, frequency, destination, receiving window, cold-chain requirements, required documents and total annual or seasonal program budget in USD. The qualifying minimum is USD 250,000 per program, not per shipment. Write ‘to be confirmed’ for unknown specifications; the team must clarify them before evaluating supply.
How does matching work in this pilot?
FishMatch stores your brief privately for human review. The team checks missing requirements and any potential producer fit; the form does not automatically contact suppliers or confirm availability. Any proposed scope, documentation and commercial terms need further review. A match is not guaranteed.
Do seafood buyers pay to submit a brief?
Buyer entry and seafood brief submission are free. The pilot does not take payment or create an order. Managed trade opportunities require staff qualification of USD 250,000+ total annual or seasonal program value, not per shipment; submitting a brief is not that approval. Any later commercial terms must be agreed separately.
Are supplier identities and certificates public?
No. Supplier names, contact details and sensitive documents are not publicly displayed or automatically released to buyers. Producer applications are self-reported and private; registration does not verify certificates, stock or traceability.
Does FishMatch guarantee harvest dates, delivery or inspection?
No. A requested harvest window is not a dispatch or delivery commitment. The pilot does not guarantee inventory, certification, quality audits, inspection, delivery or a match. Confirm product, lot, cold-chain and destination requirements with the responsible parties before committing.
Which import documents and temperatures apply?
Requirements depend on product, processing, origin and destination. The responsible importer must confirm the applicable rules. Codex guidance for quick-frozen shrimp is not a universal temperature rule for every seafood product; US seafood HACCP exemptions and EU farmed-versus-wild rules also need product-specific review. See the linked import buying guide and its official sources.
