5 mistakes buyers make when choosing aquaculture suppliers

3. Letting suppliers see each other
Open bidding produces inflated quotes and aligned pricing. Anonymized closed bids produce real competition.
4. Underestimating commissioning
Most projects underbudget commissioning by 30–50%. Insist on a documented commissioning plan with hours and milestones, not a one-page summary.
5. Ignoring after-sales geography
A vendor with no service partner within 1,000 km of your site is a vendor that will not be there when a pump fails on a Saturday night.
