Documentation d'export des produits de la mer

La documentation d'export des produits de la mer est une discipline multi-agences et multilingue où une erreur retient un conteneur pendant des semaines.

Pourquoi c'est important

The single largest cause of export shipment holds is documentation error. Most rejections are avoidable — the framework is public, but implementation is fragmented across export authorities, freight forwarders, importers and destination-market border agencies.

The universal export document set

Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading / airway bill, health / veterinary export certificate, origin certificate. Adjust and add for destination-market specifics.

US import specifics

FDA Prior Notice submitted 4 hours (truck) to 8 hours (ocean) before arrival, FDA seafood HACCP compliance, establishment registration, DUNS number, importer of record.

EU import specifics

Exporter must be on the EU establishment list, TRACES entry submitted before arrival, IUU catch certificate (or aquaculture equivalent), sanitary certificate on EU model, border-inspection post nomination.

Managing documentation errors

A single-source master data file — species names, establishment numbers, importer references — reduces mismatch errors by 60–80%. Every document generated for export should reference the master file.

Erreurs courantes

  • Missing or mismatched establishment / approval numbers on health certificates.
  • Species scientific name spelled inconsistently across documents.
  • Traceability gap between batch codes on invoice and on box labels.
  • Late FDA Prior Notice for US shipments.
  • Missing TRACES entry for EU shipments.
