RAS suppliers — how to compare

RAS suppliers differ mainly in filtration architecture, oxygen delivery, disinfection strategy and level of water reuse. The right choice depends on species, density and permit constraints — not on which supplier's brochure is glossiest.

Water treatment suppliers

Water treatment is the plumbing of the operation. Evaluate suppliers on three axes: (1) mechanical filtration up to 40–60 µm without breakdowns, (2) sizing of biofilters based on peak feed load rather than average, and (3) redundancy — a single-string water treatment plant has no place in a serious project. Ask specifically about biofilm activation time and start-up support, because the biological ramp-up (4–8 weeks) is where most first-time RAS projects lose their first cohort.

Aeration suppliers

Feed system suppliers
